Becoming Her

Hi Reader!

Welcome back to Purpose in Motion: Weekly Encouragement for Your Journey of Faith and Purpose.

September Series: Rediscovering Who You Are

Week 4: Becoming Her

Andrea's Note

Last month, we asked ourselves some important questions.

  • Who am I right now?
  • Which labels no longer fit me?
  • Where have I stopped speaking up for myself?

Before we finish, I have one more question for you: Who am I becoming as a woman?

I love the word 'becoming' because it reminds us that it's okay to keep growing.

I'm not the same person I used to be. And I'm grateful that God is still working in my life.

The same goes for you.

You don't need to have all the answers right now.

You don't have to become that woman overnight.

All you need to do is intentionally make choices today that align with the woman God wants you to be, helping you stay focused on your growth.

Let's keep moving forward together.

Purpose In Perspective

God continues to work in our lives.

Becoming who we are meant to be is not about being perfect.

It is about making progress along the way.

"He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus." Philippians 1:6

We often believe transformation happens during life's big moments.

The promotion.

The graduation.

The wedding.

Publishing the book.

Launching the business.

But most of the time, real change happens quietly.

It happens through small, quiet choices like choosing healing instead of bitterness, reminding you that progress often happens unseen.

When you forgive.

When you set a boundary.

When you pray instead of panic.

When you finally say no without apologizing.

When you stop shrinking to make someone else comfortable.

These small choices shape who we become, inspiring hope that each day brings new opportunities for growth.

Over time, we look back and see: I'm not the woman I used to be, but becoming who we want to be also takes intention.

If you want to become a woman of deeper faith, are you spending time with God?

If you want healthier relationships, are you communicating honestly?

If you want to become an author, are you writing?

If you want to become healthier, are your daily choices supporting that desire?

We don't become the woman we hope to be just by wishing.

We become her by making one faithful choice at a time.

Everyday Obstacles

Comparison: We often look at where others are and forget that we're just starting.

Perfectionism: We tell ourselves we have to do everything perfectly before we can take the next step.

Fear of Change: Even positive changes can feel uncomfortable, but embracing them can help you feel courageous and ready for growth.

Moving the Finish Line: Sometimes we make progress but forget to celebrate because we're already thinking about what's next.

Faith-Based Solutions

Pray and ask God for wisdom as He shapes you into the woman you are meant to be.

Next, take a look at your everyday life.

  • Do your daily habits match what you pray for?
  • Are your relationships helping you grow?
  • Are your boundaries keeping safe what God is building in you?
  • Are you giving yourself time to rest, pray, learn, heal, and enjoy life?

Remember to celebrate, too. Pause and notice how far God has already brought you, which can fill you with encouragement for your ongoing journey.

You might not be exactly where you want to be yet.

But you are no longer where you started.

Becoming in Action

This week, start by writing a letter that begins with: Dear Future Me...

Talk about the woman you are growing into. Share with her what you are learning right now. Let her know what you are choosing to leave behind. Share what you are praying about these days. Remind her of what you hope she remembers from this season of life.

To finish your letter, answer this question: What is one decision I can make today that fits with the woman I am becoming?

Pick one decision. Then go ahead and make it.

That is how you grow into who you are meant to be.

Reflection Questions

  • Which habits no longer fit the person I am becoming?
  • What lessons has God shown me in this season?
  • In what ways have I grown that I have not taken time to celebrate?
  • What do I need to let go of before I move into my next season?
  • What is one faithful choice I can make this week?

Continue the Conversation

This month in Purpose in Motion, we've been exploring the Empowered to Live series called Rediscovering Who You Are.

We started by talking about identity. We let go of old labels that no longer fit us. We learned to speak up and share our true selves.

Now, we're looking ahead to what's next.

Maybe God isn't asking you to return to who you once were. Maybe He wants you to meet a new version of yourself you haven't known yet.

A woman who is wiser, stronger, more discerning, and more confident.

She knows her identity doesn't come from titles, labels, achievements, or what others think.

She understands that becoming isn't a final goal.

It's a lifelong journey filled with faith, healing, purpose, and growth.

You have permission to grow.

You are free to change.

You can let go of what no longer fits you.

And you are free to become the woman God made you to be.

Keep growing.

Keep becoming.

And as always...

Stay Empowered to Live.
