Hi Reader! Welcome back to Purpose in Motion: Weekly Encouragement for Your Journey of Faith and Purpose. Month Series: Called to More Week 1: The Restlessness Isn’t Random Andrea's Note Hello, my friend, Have you ever looked at your life and wondered if there's more out there? Maybe nothing is wrong. You might feel grateful for where you are and thankful for what God has done, yet still notice that something is changing. Maybe there's an idea that keeps coming back to you. Or a burden you just can't shake. Perhaps it's a dream you thought you had set aside. Or maybe it's a quiet feeling that God wants you to notice something. Sometimes we try to ignore that feeling because we believe being grateful means we should be fully satisfied with our lives. But I've learned that you can feel grateful and restless at the same time. Not every restless feeling means God wants us to make a change. Sometimes we're just tired, frustrated, or in need of rest. But sometimes, a holy restlessness is worth paying attention to. This month, we're starting a new journey called Called to More. When I talk about wanting more, I'm not referring to more success, recognition, staying busy, or adding things to your to-do list. We'll look at what happens when God starts to stir something inside us, and how we can respond without trying to move ahead of Him. You don't have to know the whole plan. This week, maybe all you need to do is pay attention. "For it is God who works in you to will and to act in order to fulfill his good purpose." Philippians 2:13 Sometimes, before God shows us what, He begins stirring the desire. Purpose in Perspective Pay Attention to What Keeps ReturningOne reason uncertainty can be frustrating is that we often wish God would reveal everything to us right away. We want a five-year plan. We want clear instructions. We look for confirmation. Ideally, we would like everything to be color-coded too. But finding our calling does not always start with clarity. Sometimes it starts with just a small nudge. It might be a burden you just cannot shake. Or a question that keeps coming back to you. Maybe it is an idea that will not leave you alone. It could be a problem that bothers you more than it seems to bother anyone else. Or maybe it is an opportunity that excites and scares you at the same time. Sometimes, the first hint about what comes next is just noticing what God keeps putting on your heart. Take Moses, for example. Before Moses ever stood before Pharaoh, God first caught his attention with a burning bush. “So Moses thought, ‘I will go over and see this strange sight.’” Exodus 3:3 Moses stopped long enough to notice. And then God spoke. I wonder how often we ask God for clarity, but move so quickly that we miss what He is already showing us. Sometimes we do not need to act right away. Sometimes we just need to be curious. Becoming in Action This week, try not to make big decisions just because you feel restless. Instead, pay attention. Start a note on your phone or a page in your journal and title it: What Keeps Coming Back? During the week, write down any ideas, conversations, opportunities, burdens, Scriptures, or prayers that keep coming up. When the week is over, review what you wrote. Do you see any patterns? You don't need to force an answer. You are just giving yourself some quiet space to notice what stands out. Reflection Questions
Continue the Conversation Maybe you’re still trying to figure out what God wants you to do. That’s completely fine. You don’t need to turn every feeling into a five-year plan. You don’t have to set a deadline for every idea. And you definitely don’t need to turn every new feeling into a project. But don’t ignore something just because you can’t describe it yet. That restless feeling might have a purpose. Maybe the question for this week isn’t: “God, what is my entire purpose?" Maybe it’s just: “God, what are You trying to show me?" I'd love to hear from you. What keeps coming up for you these days? Reply and let me know what you've noticed. You don't have to know what it means yet. Sometimes just naming it is the first step. If you want to dig deeper, join me on Empowered to Live. This month's Called to More series looks at the restlessness, questions, fears, and faithful steps that often come with finding your purpose. Next week on Purpose in Motion, we'll talk about one of the biggest misunderstandings about calling: What Purpose Really Looks Like Because having more purpose doesn't always mean doing something bigger. Sometimes it means going deeper.
I hope God gives you the peace to notice what He is doing, the wisdom to see what matters most, and the patience to wait for what He is still showing you. I hope you can feel thankful for where you are now, and not be afraid of where God might lead you next. Even if you do not know the whole plan, I hope you can trust God with your next step. See you next week. Stay encouraged, stay open, and remember to live empowered. Share & follow |

Month Series: Called to More Week 2: What Purpose Really Looks Like Andrea's Note Last week, we talked about paying attention to the restlessness, the ideas, burdens, questions, and dreams that keep coming back. But once we notice that something might be stirring, it's easy to quickly move on to another question: What's the big thing God wants me to do? What am I supposed to build?...
Hi Reader! Welcome back to Purpose in Motion: Weekly Encouragement for Your Journey of Faith and Purpose. Hi Reader! Welcome back to Purpose in Motion: Weekly Encouragement for Your Journey of Faith and Purpose. September Series: Rediscovering Who You Are Week 3: Finding Your Voice Again Andrea's Note At times in my life, I believed that keeping the peace meant staying silent. You understand what you need, but asking for it feels uneasy....
