Trusting God While You're Still Healing

Hi Reader!

Coming Back Stronger

Week Three: Trusting God in the Recovery Process

Andrea's Note

Most of us like to hear stories about breakthroughs.

But few of us enjoy the hard work that comes before those moments.

When I was going through my illness, it seemed like things kept getting worse, and I faced many setbacks.

Even though I knew healing takes time, I still felt frustrated by how slowly things were moving.

I’ve learned that recovery can be uncomfortable and waiting can be hard, but I believe God often does His best work in quiet moments that no one else notices.

Waiting isn’t a waste of time. It can help us focus on what really matters.

Sometimes, waiting can even be a holy moment.

This Week's Teaching

Recovery can feel like it takes longer than we want.

We pray.

We wait.

We wonder.

But every stage of recovery brings something valuable.

Patience.

Faith.

Perseverance.

Dependence on God.

Needing healing does not mean you are weak.

It shows that God is working to restore what was broken.

Our trust grows each time we follow God, even when we do not have all the answers.

"Trust in the Lord with all your heart..." Proverbs 3:5–6

Everyday Obstacles

  • Feeling impatient
  • Feeling doubtful
  • Feeling frustrated
  • Comparing yourself to others
  • Wanting answers right away

Faith-Based Solutions

Make it a point to:

Trust that God’s timing is right.

Pay attention to how you grow each day.

Think back on the victories you’ve had before.

Keep in touch with people who lift you up.

Celebrate the healing along the way, not just the end results.

Becoming in Action

Make a list called your "Faithfulness List."

Write down five times when God helped you through hard times.

Look back at your list whenever you feel discouraged.

This Week's Prayer

Father,

Help me trust You as I continue to grow.

Let me notice the growth I might miss.

Give me peace as I wait and confidence as I heal.

Amen.

Reflection Question

  • In what areas of my life am I finding it hard to trust God?
  • Is there something in my life that I am trying to hurry along?
  • How has God already proven His faithfulness to me?
  • What is this season of life teaching me?
